The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to teachers and the SEN team, helping students achieve their full potential. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and behaviour, while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers and the SEN team in delivering high-quality instruction and learning experiences.
- Work individually or with small groups of students to promote positive learning and behaviour.
- Introduce and support students with work set by subject specialists in the absence of the classroom teacher.
- Manage student behaviour, respond to queries, and ensure students are engaged and on task.
- Contribute to the development of the department and collaborate with a dedicated team of educators.
- Maintain a professional and flexible attitude, embracing innovative teaching methods and approaches.
- Assist with the organisation and delivery of learning activities in a structured and supportive manner.
- Support the school’s mission to provide a well-rounded education that prepares students for the future.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A passion for working with children in a school setting.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Experience working with students, ideally in a school or educational environment.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or supporting learning, such as through teacher training or related qualifications.
- Experience with students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Familiarity with curriculum planning and delivery.
- Experience in a school Ofsted rated 'outstanding' or similar.
