Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Humanities that inspire and challenge students.
  • Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and promote a shared vision for teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Support student well-being and behaviour, maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
  • Work closely with the Director of Humanities to ensure alignment with school goals and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching Humanities at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography, History, and related areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a classroom with high standards of behaviour.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading curriculum innovation.
  • Previous experience in a school undergoing significant change or improvement.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
  • Familiarity with British Values and their integration into the curriculum.
