The Opportunity:

A Humanities Teacher is needed to deliver Geography and Humanities courses at Key Stages 3–5 in a dynamic, forward-thinking school. This role offers flexibility and the chance to make a real impact on student learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Geography and Humanities across Key Stages 3–5.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities within the school and Alpha Schools Group.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and guardians.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred but not essential.
  • Relevant teaching experience, particularly in Geography or Humanities.
  • A strong understanding of the IB curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) or Diploma Programme (DP).
  • Additional subject specialisms in Humanities or SEN support.
  • Experience in working with diverse student groups and promoting inclusive education.
  • Flexibility to work part-time or on a flexible schedule.
