The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join our Secondary School team. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to delivering high-quality education and supporting student achievement up to KS5. As a Humanities Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a range of Humanities subjects to students following the English National Curriculum, including IGCSE and IAL.
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that promote critical thinking and a love of learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and professional development activities.
- Support the school’s mission by fostering a culture of respect, kindness, and academic excellence.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school through active involvement in self-evaluation and leadership initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant bachelor’s degree.
- PGCE or PGDE and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Experience teaching Humanities at the Secondary level, preferably up to KS5.
Preferred
- Experience with the English National Curriculum and IGCSE/IAL qualifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated success in student achievement and classroom management.
- Experience with safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
