Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver a high-quality, engaging curriculum in Humanities with a focus on History.
• Support students' academic progress and personal development as a form tutor.
• Plan and implement effective lesson plans, resources, and assessments.
• Contribute to the development of departmental and school-wide strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and track student progress effectively.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student achievement.
• Participate in professional development and staff training initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree.
• Experience teaching at secondary level, ideally in multi-ethnic urban schools and 11-18 institutions.
• Strong understanding of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a motivating and safe learning environment.
• Proficient in ICT, including the use of interactive teaching tools.

Preferred

• Experience teaching Geography and/or Politics.
• Demonstrated success in raising student attainment and engagement.
• Experience in pastoral care and form tutoring.
• Leadership experience or involvement in departmental planning.
