The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher with a History specialism to join a high-achieving team. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on student learning and development, while contributing to a vibrant and forward-thinking educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a high-quality, engaging curriculum in Humanities with a focus on History.
- Support students' academic progress and personal development as a form tutor.
- Plan and implement effective lesson plans, resources, and assessments.
- Contribute to the development of departmental and school-wide strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and track student progress effectively.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student achievement.
- Participate in professional development and staff training initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Experience teaching at secondary level, ideally in multi-ethnic urban schools and 11-18 institutions.
- Strong understanding of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a motivating and safe learning environment.
- Proficient in ICT, including the use of interactive teaching tools.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Geography and/or Politics.
- Demonstrated success in raising student attainment and engagement.
- Experience in pastoral care and form tutoring.
- Leadership experience or involvement in departmental planning.
