The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History and Politics Teacher to join our successful department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in History and Politics, promoting student engagement and academic excellence.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support a collaborative learning culture.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school, including participation in extra-curricular activities and events.
  • Support the pastoral care system and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the academic standards of the department.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the subject area and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in History and Politics.
  • Proven ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in classroom management and behaviour support.
  • Commitment to pastoral care and safeguarding.
  • Excellent planning and preparation skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching at the secondary level.
  • Familiarity with Initial Teacher Training programmes.
  • Experience in a co-educational or independent school setting.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities or leadership roles.
