Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging science lessons that promote student achievement and curiosity.
- Plan and develop curriculum resources and lesson plans in line with National Curriculum requirements.
- Monitor and support student progress, providing tailored feedback and guidance.
- Contribute to departmental planning and the development of teaching strategies.
- Act as a form tutor, supporting students' pastoral needs and fostering positive relationships.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and external stakeholders.
- Participate in staff development and continue professional growth through training and collaboration.
- Ensure a safe, motivating, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Proven experience teaching science at the secondary level, ideally in an 11-18 school and multi-ethnic urban setting.
- Strong understanding of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
- Ability to create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
Preferred
- Experience with innovative use of ICT and interactive teaching tools.
- Experience in leading or contributing to staff development initiatives.
- Experience in pastoral care and form tutoring.
- Knowledge of science education best practices and curriculum development.
