The Opportunity:

As an IB DP Librarian, you will play a key role in supporting the International Baccalaureate program by fostering a culture of inquiry, reading, and research skills. This is an opportunity to lead and innovate in a forward-thinking educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the library, ensuring it is a vibrant and inclusive learning space.
  • Support the integration of library resources into the IB curriculum, including TOK, IA, and Extended Essay.
  • Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver engaging library-based learning experiences.
  • Provide guidance to students on research skills, information literacy, and digital resource use.
  • Promote a love of reading and literature through curated collections and events.
  • Lead and champion library initiatives that align with the school's vision and values.
  • Maintain and update library systems and online resources, such as JSTOR and Follett.
  • Engage with students, parents, and teachers to ensure the library meets the needs of the school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Advanced/proficient-level English language skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Library Science or similar experience
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience teaching in a reputable school
  • Demonstrates professionalism, enthusiasm, commitment and integrity
  • Inter-cultural awareness and well-developed communication skills

Preferred

  • PGCE in Education with QTS or equivalent
  • Experience with the IB DP/CP program, including TOK, IA or Extended Essay support
  • Knowledge of various offline and online resources/platforms (i.e. JSTOR/Follett, etc.)
