The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Reception Teacher to join our team. This role is essential in shaping young learners and fostering a love of learning from an early age. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to supporting the school’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach whole classes, groups, and individuals effectively to meet learning objectives and maintain a challenging and engaging classroom environment
  • Plan and deliver lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Establish and maintain high standards of pupil behavior through clear rules and expectations
  • Participate in the school’s performance management program
  • Identify and support pupils with special educational needs
  • Design and adapt long, medium, and short-term lesson plans
  • Mark and monitor pupils’ work, providing constructive feedback
  • Set and track clear targets for pupil achievement and progress
  • Supervise pupils during playtime, lunchtime, and at least one school club
  • Attend staff meetings, inset days, parent evenings, open days, and school events

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience as a Reception Class Teacher
  • Understanding of professional responsibilities in line with school policies and practices
  • Ability to set a good example through presentation and personal conduct
  • Commitment to evaluating teaching practices and improving effectiveness
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues
  • Passion for the extra-curricular life of the school

Preferred

  • Experience in managing teaching assistants and support staff
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in safeguarding and child protection
