The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Science to join a dynamic and expanding department. The role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a preference for teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 5. This is an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced teachers to contribute to a thriving Science Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 with a preference for Chemistry at Key Stage 5.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Support the development of the Science Department through collaboration and shared planning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Participate in the full life of the school, including extracurricular activities and student support.
  • Stay up to date with current research and developments in Science education.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning within the department.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high standard of teaching across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher status or equivalent.
  • Relevant subject knowledge in Science, with a preference for Chemistry.
  • Experience of teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 5.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
