The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Science to join a dynamic and expanding department. The role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a preference for teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 5. This is an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced teachers to contribute to a thriving Science Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Science across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 with a preference for Chemistry at Key Stage 5.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
- Support the development of the Science Department through collaboration and shared planning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Participate in the full life of the school, including extracurricular activities and student support.
- Stay up to date with current research and developments in Science education.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning within the department.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high standard of teaching across the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher status or equivalent.
- Relevant subject knowledge in Science, with a preference for Chemistry.
- Experience of teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching Chemistry at Key Stage 5.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
