The Opportunity:

As an IT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of IT services across multiple campuses. This is a leadership position that requires technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage a high-performing team. You will be responsible for maintaining system reliability, supporting key college events, and driving continuous improvement in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead operational IT delivery across assigned campuses, ensuring systems are resilient and meet service level agreements
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of engineers and technicians, fostering a customer-focused culture
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical incidents and provide timely solutions
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to maintain consistent technical standards
  • Support major college events such as enrolment, exams, and inspections
  • Drive continuous improvement in IT processes, documentation, and service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and data protection standards
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to align IT services with business objectives

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Significant experience in enterprise IT environments, with a strong background in infrastructure, virtualisation, endpoint, and network technologies
  • Proven experience in managing and developing IT teams
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience handling high-impact incidents and making decisions under pressure
  • A pragmatic, solution-focused approach with a commitment to service improvement

Preferred

  • Experience within Further Education or the public sector
  • Familiarity with educational IT systems and processes
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and IT service management frameworks
  • Experience with project management and major IT initiatives
