Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing Mathematics department, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
- Support and mentor staff to improve practice, raise standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the Extended Leadership Team to implement school-wide strategies and initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all learners achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver a rigorous and engaging Mathematics curriculum.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that reflects the values of the institution.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Represent the Mathematics department at staff meetings, curriculum events, and external forums.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a Mathematics department or in a middle leadership role.
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics with a passion for the subject.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Understanding of current educational trends and best practices in Mathematics education.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a team of teachers and driving improvement in student outcomes.
- Knowledge of assessment and data analysis in Mathematics.
- Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology in education.
- Experience in school improvement or professional development initiatives.
