Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Mathematics department, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Support and mentor staff to improve practice, raise standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Extended Leadership Team to implement school-wide strategies and initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all learners achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver a rigorous and engaging Mathematics curriculum.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that reflects the values of the institution.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the Mathematics department at staff meetings, curriculum events, and external forums.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a Mathematics department or in a middle leadership role.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics with a passion for the subject.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Understanding of current educational trends and best practices in Mathematics education.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a team of teachers and driving improvement in student outcomes.
  • Knowledge of assessment and data analysis in Mathematics.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology in education.
  • Experience in school improvement or professional development initiatives.
