IT Support Technician (Level 1) role available at a school. Support users with technical issues.

The Opportunity:

As an IT Support Technician (Level 1), you will provide frontline technical support across the organisation, resolving routine IT incidents and delivering a consistent customer support experience. This is a key role in ensuring the school’s IT systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line IT support to users, resolving common technical issues within defined procedures.
  • Escalate complex, infrastructure-level, or security-related issues to senior IT staff as appropriate.
  • Maintain and support end-user devices across Windows and Apple environments.
  • Ensure a consistent and reliable customer support experience for all users.
  • Follow established procedures and documentation to deliver efficient and effective support.
  • Communicate clearly with users and colleagues to resolve technical problems.
  • Assist with the implementation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT support processes and services.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in providing first-line IT support or working in an IT helpdesk environment.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Apple operating systems.
  • Understanding of basic IT support and customer service principles.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with IT ticketing systems or helpdesk software.
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure and security basics.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting or similar organisation.
  • Knowledge of mobile device management and cloud-based services.
