The Opportunity:

We are seeking an IT Technician to support technology across multiple school sites and promote the effective use of IT in teaching and learning. This role is central to ensuring smooth operations and enhancing the educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide frontline IT support and escalate complex issues to the School IT Manager or Core Services team.
  • Monitor and maintain servers, networks, broadband, and telephony systems.
  • Support secure access management, including ID badges, user accounts, and permissions.
  • Promote data security and safeguarding monitoring, including suspicious-activity reporting.
  • Configure, deploy, and track devices using Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Trust inventory processes.
  • Resolve printer and shared IT resource issues in classrooms and events.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing, security checks, and WEEE disposal.
  • Promote best practices across SharePoint sites and Trust-wide document management.
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues across the Trust to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong technical IT background with experience across multiple sites.
  • Broad technical skillset covering servers, networking, security, connectivity, device configuration, telephony, access control, licensing, storage, automation, helpdesk systems, and remote working.
  • Good general education with GCSE English and Maths (grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft).
  • Collaborative, team-focused approach.
  • Confident communicator able to engage clearly with staff and pupils.
  • Ability to travel between Trust sites when needed.
  • Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours incidents or maintenance.
