The Opportunity:
A Junior Teaching Assistant is needed to support the learning and welfare of children in the classroom. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners and contribute to a dynamic, supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the learning of children in Year 3 or Year 4, and provide cover as required across the Infant School
- Work closely with class teachers to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
- Assist in the management of classroom activities and ensure a safe, positive learning environment
- Promote the welfare and emotional wellbeing of students
- Contribute to the school’s mission by fostering a culture of kindness, integrity, and academic excellence
- Support the development of individual students through personalized attention and encouragement
- Participate in school events and activities that enhance the learning experience
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with teachers and parents
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A genuine passion for working with children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and build strong relationships with staff and students
- Commitment to the school’s mission and values
- Experience or training in education or childcare
Preferred
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role
- Knowledge of child development and learning theories
- Experience working in a school or educational setting
- Familiarity with the school’s curriculum and teaching methods
