The Opportunity:

As a Graduate Assistant in Sport, you will support the PE and Sports Department, assisting with lessons, fixtures, and school trips. This role is ideal for those looking to gain experience and potentially progress into teaching. You will work with students of all ages and abilities, promoting a love of sport and physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering PE lessons and games sessions
  • Support the organisation and delivery of school fixtures and trips
  • Work with students of all abilities and ages to promote physical activity and sports participation
  • Liaise with staff across the school to coordinate sports-related activities
  • Contribute to the Saturday Sports Programme and other extracurricular activities
  • Support the development of sports coaching and leadership skills
  • Undertake other duties in line with the post-holder’s skills and experience
  • Assist in the delivery of small amounts of classroom teaching, where appropriate

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A university degree or currently enrolled in a degree programme
  • Experience in coaching netball and girls’ hockey
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A keen interest in sport and physical activity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and support a busy school calendar

Preferred

  • Experience playing or coaching sport to a good standard
  • Interest in Strength and Conditioning
  • Experience in teaching or classroom support
  • Familiarity with the school’s frontline sports

Compensation & Benefits:
