The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of Geography to lead and inspire the department, ensuring Geography is taught in an engaging and challenging way. This role offers the opportunity to shape the curriculum and support students in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Geography department
• Ensure Geography is taught in an interesting and challenging manner
• Contribute to teaching as set out in the timetable
• Develop specifications, materials and schemes of work
• Represent the department in curriculum-related meetings
• Support and mentor Geography staff
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
• Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance the overall learning experience

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Good degree or equivalent qualification
• Excellent subject knowledge in Geography
• Experience of working with young people
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff

Preferred

• Experience in a senior teaching or leadership role
• Experience with curriculum development
• Experience in managing a teaching team
• Strong communication and organisational skills
