The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and passionate team during a maternity cover period. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the academic and personal growth of young learners in a friendly and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teaching and learning of Key Stage 1 pupils in a structured and engaging manner.
  • Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and materials.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to deliver high-quality education.
  • Provide individualised support to pupils with diverse learning needs.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress in line with school policies and standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of lesson plans and activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pupil progress and behaviour.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their academic and personal development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and caring approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to follow instructions and adhere to school policies and procedures.

Preferred

  • An NVQ Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience with child development and behaviour management techniques.
  • A positive attitude and a good sense of humour.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £21,050 to £23,800 per annum.
  • Term-time only working hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm).
