The Opportunity:
Join a vibrant Sports Department as a Graduate PE Teacher Assistant, supporting the delivery of PE, Games, and co-curricular sports activities. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in teaching, coaching, and pastoral care within a through-school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of high-quality PE and Swimming lessons across all age groups.
- Assist with Games afternoons, fixtures, and competitions, including midweek and weekend commitments.
- Contribute to the planning and management of a broad co-curricular sports programme.
- Work closely with the Director of Sport and PE Department staff to enhance student engagement and performance.
- Provide pastoral support to students in a caring and inclusive school environment.
- Assist with the organisation of school events and sports-related activities.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, discipline, and lifelong participation in physical activity.
- Support the development of students’ physical, social, and emotional well-being through sports.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recent graduate with a degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
- Enthusiasm for teaching, coaching, and working with young people.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or coaching within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of sports leadership and event management.
- Experience with swimming instruction or aquatic activities.
- Understanding of pastoral care and student welfare.
