The Opportunity:

Join a vibrant Sports Department as a Graduate PE Teacher Assistant, supporting the delivery of PE, Games, and co-curricular sports activities. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in teaching, coaching, and pastoral care within a through-school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of high-quality PE and Swimming lessons across all age groups.
  • Assist with Games afternoons, fixtures, and competitions, including midweek and weekend commitments.
  • Contribute to the planning and management of a broad co-curricular sports programme.
  • Work closely with the Director of Sport and PE Department staff to enhance student engagement and performance.
  • Provide pastoral support to students in a caring and inclusive school environment.
  • Assist with the organisation of school events and sports-related activities.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, discipline, and lifelong participation in physical activity.
  • Support the development of students’ physical, social, and emotional well-being through sports.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching, coaching, and working with young people.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or coaching within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of sports leadership and event management.
  • Experience with swimming instruction or aquatic activities.
  • Understanding of pastoral care and student welfare.
