KS2 Learning Support Assistant role with a focus on 1:1 support and emotional wellbeing.

The Opportunity:
As a KS2 Learning Support Assistant, you will provide individualised support to a Year 4 pupil with additional needs, helping them achieve academic success and emotional growth in a nurturing setting. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in a child’s life while working as part of a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to meet the pupil’s educational, social and emotional needs throughout the school day
- Support the delivery of the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) through targeted interventions and differentiated activities
- Implement and monitor the use of a sensory diet and regulation strategies
- Build positive, trusting relationships to promote engagement, confidence and independence
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, therapists and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support
- Monitor pupil progress through observation and contribute to assessments and records
- Support behaviour management in line with school policies
- Provide pastoral support and encourage positive social interactions
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children with additional needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to supporting pupil wellbeing and academic progress
- Understanding of SEN support strategies and inclusive practices
Preferred
- Experience in implementing sensory diets and regulation strategies
- Experience with Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
- Familiarity with child protection and safeguarding procedures
- Experience with behaviour management techniques
