The Opportunity:
As a KS2 Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and preparing students for 11+ entrance exams. You will be responsible for creating a stimulating learning environment that supports both academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons across core subjects with a focus on literacy and numeracy.
- Prepare students for 11+ entrance exams through targeted teaching and support.
- Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages learning and self-discipline.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students, ensuring their well-being and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and school initiatives.
- Engage with parents to keep them informed about their child’s progress and learning.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events.
- Plan and deliver lessons that align with the school’s forward-thinking curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching in the primary sector, ideally in a KS2 setting
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to student welfare and academic success
Preferred
- Experience in the independent school sector
- Background in preparing students for selective entrance exams
- Experience with oracy-based teaching methods such as debating or philosophy for children
- Familiarity with a curriculum that is a year ahead of age group expectations
