The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join a highly successful department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a department with a long tradition of excellence in mathematics education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons to students across all year groups.
  • Prepare and assess students for Pearson examinations and national Mathematics competitions.
  • Support students in achieving outstanding results at A-level, IGCSE, and Further Mathematics.
  • Participate in the school’s Mathematics Society and lead weekly talks on mathematical themes.
  • Contribute to the inter-house and individual Mathematics competitions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students in the Mathematics Team Challenges.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching methods and resources.
  • Support the school’s commitment to pastoral care and student wellbeing.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status or the potential to achieve it.
  • A strong degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Experience in teaching Mathematics at secondary level.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for Mathematics.

Preferred

  • Experience in preparing students for national Mathematics competitions.
  • Familiarity with UKMT Mathematics Challenges and Olympiad papers.
  • Experience in teaching Further Mathematics.
  • Leadership experience within a Mathematics department.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
