The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join a highly successful department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a department with a long tradition of excellence in mathematics education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons to students across all year groups.
- Prepare and assess students for Pearson examinations and national Mathematics competitions.
- Support students in achieving outstanding results at A-level, IGCSE, and Further Mathematics.
- Participate in the school’s Mathematics Society and lead weekly talks on mathematical themes.
- Contribute to the inter-house and individual Mathematics competitions.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students in the Mathematics Team Challenges.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching methods and resources.
- Support the school’s commitment to pastoral care and student wellbeing.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status or the potential to achieve it.
- A strong degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Experience in teaching Mathematics at secondary level.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student success and a passion for Mathematics.
Preferred
- Experience in preparing students for national Mathematics competitions.
- Familiarity with UKMT Mathematics Challenges and Olympiad papers.
- Experience in teaching Further Mathematics.
- Leadership experience within a Mathematics department.
- Experience in pastoral care and student support.
