Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Mathematics Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and attainment in Mathematics.
- Support and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the school, working collaboratively with senior leadership.
- Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of Mathematics curriculum across all key stages.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote the importance of Mathematics education.
- Monitor and evaluate departmental performance, using data to inform decision-making and improvement.
- Represent the Mathematics Department in school-wide meetings and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching Mathematics at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a school or college setting.
- A strong track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and innovations in Mathematics teaching.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with digital tools and resources for teaching Mathematics.
