The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and attainment in Mathematics.
  • Support and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the school, working collaboratively with senior leadership.
  • Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of Mathematics curriculum across all key stages.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote the importance of Mathematics education.
  • Monitor and evaluate departmental performance, using data to inform decision-making and improvement.
  • Represent the Mathematics Department in school-wide meetings and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching Mathematics at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a school or college setting.
  • A strong track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and innovations in Mathematics teaching.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and resources for teaching Mathematics.
