The Opportunity:

As a KS3 Transition Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping Year 7 and 8 students who are working below age-related expectations. You will deliver tailored lessons in English, Maths, History, and Geography, helping students build the foundational skills needed for success in mainstream secondary classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted curriculum content in English, Maths, History, and Geography to small groups of students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students working below age-related expectations.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement the KS3 Transition Provision initiative.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support students in developing confidence, self-esteem, and a love of learning.
  • Participate in staff development and professional learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote academic and personal growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with primary teaching experience.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective instruction in English and Maths.
  • Strong understanding of primary pedagogy and foundational learning.
  • Experience working with students who are below age-related expectations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a secondary school setting.
  • Familiarity with cross-phase initiatives.
  • Leadership experience or interest in developing leadership skills.
  • Experience with curriculum adaptation and differentiation.
  • Knowledge of Catholic education values and ethos.
