The Opportunity:
As a Lead Maths Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping student success through high-quality teaching, mentorship, and leadership. This is an opportunity to influence learning outcomes and support the professional growth of colleagues within the Maths department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding teaching and learning in lessons and intervention sessions.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for staff and students in intervention programmes.
- Evaluate the impact of learning strategies on student progress and provide feedback to senior and middle leaders.
- Design and deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions for teachers in the department.
- Support the development of a strong and cohesive Maths department culture.
- Monitor and assess student performance to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of the Maths curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Maths education.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality lessons and support student progress.
- Experience in providing coaching and mentoring to staff and students.
- Strong analytical and evaluative skills to assess the impact of teaching strategies.
- Commitment to professional development and CPD delivery.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Experience with intervention programmes and student support strategies.
- Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment practices.
