The Opportunity:

As a Lead Maths Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping student success through high-quality teaching, mentorship, and leadership. This is an opportunity to influence learning outcomes and support the professional growth of colleagues within the Maths department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning in lessons and intervention sessions.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for staff and students in intervention programmes.
  • Evaluate the impact of learning strategies on student progress and provide feedback to senior and middle leaders.
  • Design and deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions for teachers in the department.
  • Support the development of a strong and cohesive Maths department culture.
  • Monitor and assess student performance to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the Maths curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Maths education.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality lessons and support student progress.
  • Experience in providing coaching and mentoring to staff and students.
  • Strong analytical and evaluative skills to assess the impact of teaching strategies.
  • Commitment to professional development and CPD delivery.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with intervention programmes and student support strategies.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment practices.
