The Opportunity:
A Science Teacher (KS4 Lead) is needed to lead and develop the Key Stage 4 curriculum within a dynamic and forward-thinking school. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced teacher who is committed to driving academic excellence and supporting colleagues through adaptive teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Key Stage 4 Science curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
- Support and mentor colleagues in the department, particularly in the area of adaptive teaching.
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Contribute to the wider Science department by sharing best practices and innovative teaching methods.
- Work closely with the Head of Science to implement departmental strategies and goals.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant experience in Science teaching.
- Experience of teaching Science at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Strong knowledge of Science curriculum and pedagogy.
- Proven ability to deliver effective and engaging lessons.
- Demonstrable impact on student achievement and progress.
Preferred
- Specialisation in Biology or Physics.
- Experience in leading curriculum development or departmental initiatives.
- Experience with adaptive teaching strategies.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Experience in a school undergoing expansion or improvement projects.
