The Opportunity:

A Science Teacher (KS4 Lead) is needed to lead and develop the Key Stage 4 curriculum within a dynamic and forward-thinking school. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced teacher who is committed to driving academic excellence and supporting colleagues through adaptive teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Key Stage 4 Science curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
  • Support and mentor colleagues in the department, particularly in the area of adaptive teaching.
  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Contribute to the wider Science department by sharing best practices and innovative teaching methods.
  • Work closely with the Head of Science to implement departmental strategies and goals.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant experience in Science teaching.
  • Experience of teaching Science at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong knowledge of Science curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective and engaging lessons.
  • Demonstrable impact on student achievement and progress.

Preferred

  • Specialisation in Biology or Physics.
  • Experience in leading curriculum development or departmental initiatives.
  • Experience with adaptive teaching strategies.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in a school undergoing expansion or improvement projects.
