The Opportunity:

As a Learning Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting student welfare and academic success. You will work closely with students, staff, and external agencies to ensure every learner thrives in a safe and inclusive environment. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students through strategic intervention and data-driven support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor student progress using MIS systems and data analysis to identify concerns and implement effective interventions.
  • Act as the first point of contact for behaviour-related incidents and support the consequences process, including communication with parents and readmission meetings.
  • Liaise with external agencies by chairing Children in Need and Team Around the Child meetings and managing referrals.
  • Coordinate year group logistics, including attendance checks, vaccinations, and photographs.
  • Support the Education Welfare Officer with truancy sweeps and other attendance-related initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent application of school policies and procedures across all student interactions.
  • Provide guidance and support to students facing academic or behavioural challenges.
  • Collaborate with staff and agencies to develop and implement strategies that promote student well-being and success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience working in a school environment with a focus on student welfare and support.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of issues affecting students and young people, including safeguarding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences.
  • Proficiency in using standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and remain empathetic when dealing with students and families.
  • Experience working with external agencies that support vulnerable students.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing complex student cases and providing strategic interventions.
  • Knowledge of data-driven monitoring and analysis techniques.
  • Experience in leading or supporting inter-agency collaboration.
