Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science to students across KS3, KS4, and KS5, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
  • Support students in achieving outstanding progress and academic success through effective assessment and feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extra-curricular activities and student support programs.
  • Monitor and assess student performance regularly, using data to inform teaching and learning.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, ensuring their well-being and engagement in learning.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant Science degree and appropriate teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science and the ability to deliver engaging, challenging lessons.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to a Science department.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Knowledge of current educational research and pedagogical approaches in Science education.
