The Opportunity:
As a Learning Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students who may face social, emotional or behavioural challenges. You’ll work closely with teaching staff, parents and other professionals to provide tailored interventions, build trusting relationships and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges through tailored interventions.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective strategies.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage positive behaviour and personal development.
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Monitor and report on student progress and well-being regularly.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist in the delivery of school-wide initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes.
- Provide guidance and support to students in line with the school’s values and safeguarding policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Passion for working with young people and making a positive impact on their lives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to build strong relationships with students.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Experience working in educational or youth support settings is desirable.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar role within a school or youth setting.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and emotional support techniques.
- Experience with developing and delivering interventions for students with social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
- Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures.
