The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning of students with special educational needs. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable pupils and work within a supportive and professional team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs in their learning and development
  • Assist in the delivery of individual and group learning sessions
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent approach to student support
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide regular updates to the teaching team
  • Provide one-to-one support and encouragement to students to help them reach their full potential
  • Participate in staff training and development opportunities
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of individual education plans
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to Catholic education and school values
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and the school

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting
  • Previous experience in learning support or teaching assistant roles
  • Knowledge of SEN support strategies and interventions
  • Experience with autism, dyslexia, or social, emotional, and mental health needs
