The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant SEMH, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This position is integral to delivering evidence-based interventions and promoting the wellbeing of students within a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs through tailored interventions and therapeutic activities
  • Deliver 1 to 1 and group sessions using evidence-based approaches
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure consistent support for students
  • Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing
  • Assist in the delivery of wellbeing space and learning support centre activities
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of therapeutic programmes
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and carers

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students who have SEMH needs
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to Catholic education and school values
  • Full, clean DBS check and satisfactory references

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering therapeutic support or talking therapies
  • Experience with KITs or similar therapeutic tools
  • Familiarity with Talkabout or similar group interventions
  • Experience in a school or educational setting
