The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will help ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed academically and personally, while also managing access arrangements for students. This is a vital role in a school that values inclusivity, challenge, and student growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SEND students in achieving their full potential through personalized learning strategies.
  • Coordinate and lead interventions for underachieving SEND students as part of the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle.
  • Prepare and collate evidence for access arrangements applications.
  • Ensure the safety, welfare, and inclusion of students in all aspects of school life.
  • Promote independence and self-confidence in students through targeted support.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and other support services to deliver a cohesive learning experience.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student support and access arrangements.
  • Contribute to the development and review of individual education plans.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE A - C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Good general standard of education.
  • Understanding of procedures and legislation relating to confidentiality.
  • Awareness of the importance of physical and emotional wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with students with special educational needs.
  • Familiarity with the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle.
  • Experience in preparing access arrangements evidence files.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
