The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting English Language Learners in Primary and Secondary. You will assist students in GCSE and BTEC subjects, providing targeted intervention and fostering positive relationships with both students and teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students during GCSE and BTEC lessons by identifying learning difficulties and providing in-class assistance.
• Deliver weekly targeted intervention sessions to consolidate learning and improve exam techniques.
• Collaborate closely with subject teachers to ensure effective support for students.
• Maintain regular communication with the Head of ELL for updates and changes to the timetable.
• Build strong, positive relationships with students and provide pastoral support when needed.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions to enhance teaching practices.
• Stay informed about GCSE and BTEC assessment systems and expectations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• At least 4 years of experience in an international school setting.
• Strong understanding of GCSE and/or BTEC assessment systems and expectations.
• General knowledge of secondary-level subjects with a preference for in-depth understanding of specific subjects.
• Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with language barriers.
• Ability to break down complex content into manageable learning segments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Preferred

• A bachelor's degree with a CELTA, TESOL, or similar qualification.
• Experience in developing and delivering targeted learning interventions.
• Familiarity with child development and strategies for supporting student well-being.
