The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs and ensuring they thrive in a child-centred, inclusive environment. You will collaborate with teachers and leadership to provide targeted interventions and support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), helping students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with additional learning needs in-class and through targeted interventions.
  • Collaborate with class teachers, SENDco, and leadership teams to ensure appropriate differentiation and curriculum access.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Deliver evidence-based intervention strategies that support student achievement.
  • Promote inclusion, wellbeing, and student advocacy through reflective and proactive teaching practices.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive classroom practices and differentiation strategies.
  • Engage with parents and colleagues to build positive, trusting relationships.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working as a Learning Support Teacher or in a similar role within Early Years and/or Primary settings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field, with a PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience supporting students with additional learning needs in an international or British curriculum setting.
  • Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a reputable school.
  • Strong understanding of differentiation, intervention strategies, and inclusive classroom practice.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, empathy, commitment, and integrity.
  • Strong intercultural awareness and excellent communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) or UK Early Years / Primary frameworks.
  • Knowledge of SEND provision, assessment for learning, and inclusive practices.
