The Opportunity:

A Learning Support Assistant is needed to support students aged 11-16 with EHCPs in a supportive and structured environment. This role is essential in helping students achieve their full potential through personalized learning and strong pastoral care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in whole class and 1:1 settings, ensuring they receive tailored assistance.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver lessons with high staff-to-pupil ratios.
  • Assist in maintaining positive behavior and a productive learning environment.
  • Provide emotional and academic support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual learning plans.
  • Collaborate with the support team to ensure consistent and effective teaching strategies.
  • Participate in staff training and development programs focused on behavior management.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with teachers and parents.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and support teachers in the classroom.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Previous experience in a learning support or education setting.

Preferred

  • Experience with EHCPs and individual learning plans.
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies.
  • Experience in a school setting with a focus on pastoral care.
  • Flexibility to work term time only.
