The Opportunity:
A Learning Support Assistant is needed to support students aged 11-16 with EHCPs in a supportive and structured environment. This role is essential in helping students achieve their full potential through personalized learning and strong pastoral care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in whole class and 1:1 settings, ensuring they receive tailored assistance.
- Work closely with teachers to deliver lessons with high staff-to-pupil ratios.
- Assist in maintaining positive behavior and a productive learning environment.
- Provide emotional and academic support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual learning plans.
- Collaborate with the support team to ensure consistent and effective teaching strategies.
- Participate in staff training and development programs focused on behavior management.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with teachers and parents.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and support teachers in the classroom.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Previous experience in a learning support or education setting.
Preferred
- Experience with EHCPs and individual learning plans.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies.
- Experience in a school setting with a focus on pastoral care.
- Flexibility to work term time only.
