The Opportunity:
As an Autism Teacher and Inclusion Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism and special educational needs to achieve academic, social, and emotional success. You will lead the development of targeted intervention programmes, ensuring that students have the tools they need to thrive in both specialist and mainstream settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, deliver, and quality assure evidence-informed interventions in literacy, numeracy, emotional regulation, and social cognition.
- Support students in their transition to and reintegration into mainstream learning through adaptive teaching and personalised support.
- Collaborate with the PSRP Leadership Team, therapy team, SENDCo, and Lead Practitioner (Inclusion) to monitor the impact of interventions.
- Promote high aspirations and independence among students in line with EHCP outcomes and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Lead the development of inclusive practice across the school.
- Deliver targeted programmes that support academic and social development.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students with autism and special educational needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs and autism support.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver evidence-informed interventions.
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP outcomes.
- Experience in working with students with complex needs and supporting their academic and social development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading intervention programmes or inclusion initiatives.
- Knowledge of emotional regulation and anxiety management strategies.
- Experience in mainstream and specialist educational settings.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity in the classroom.
