The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, particularly in literacy and numeracy. You will work closely with students to help them reach their full potential through targeted interventions and personalized support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to support students with SEND.
- Provide in-class support to help students develop essential skills in literacy, numeracy, and study techniques.
- Track student progress and contribute to the planning and delivery of provision.
- Act as a key worker, maintaining regular communication with staff, parents, and students.
- Liaise with teaching staff to ensure consistent support and strategies are in place.
- Use ICT tools effectively to support learning and record-keeping.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Promote the welfare and wellbeing of students through positive and supportive interactions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Experience in education or working with children, particularly those with SEND.
- Confidence in using ICT tools for teaching and record-keeping.
Preferred
- Experience in literacy and numeracy support.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies.
- Experience working in a school or educational setting.
