The Opportunity:
As a Sports and Outdoor Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering an engaging and varied programme of sport and outdoor learning, helping pupils from Reception to Year 6 develop confidence, teamwork and a love of physical activity. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a forward-thinking school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of PE lessons and Outdoor Learning sessions across the Junior School
- Work alongside experienced teaching staff to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons
- Lead and support small groups in PE, games and specialist activities
- Assist with, and where appropriate lead, co-curricular sport including lunchtime and after-school clubs
- Support after-school swim squad training and accompany pupils to galas
- Coach and support school sports teams, including attending midweek fixtures and occasional weekend events
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recent graduate with a passion for sport and outdoor learning
- Enthusiasm for working with young people and a willingness to learn
- Confidence coaching at least one of the following sports: Netball, Football, Cricket, Swimming or Athletics
- Flexibility, proactivity and a collaborative approach to work
Preferred
- Experience in teaching, coaching or outdoor education
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to contribute across a wide range of sporting and outdoor activities
