Learning Support Assistant needed for a nurturing school in the Chilterns.

The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide vital one-to-one and small group support to a Year 3 pupil, helping them reach their full potential. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with children and dedicated to supporting those with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a Year 3 pupil with tailored learning strategies to meet individual educational, developmental, and wellbeing needs.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group assistance in a structured and nurturing environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and other support professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and development of the child regularly.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit the specific needs of the pupil.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere for the child.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and interventions.
  • Assist in planning and preparing learning activities that align with curriculum goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recent experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Strong track record of supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Proven ability to deliver personalised 1:1 support for a child with an EHCP.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing individual learning plans.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
  • Experience with teaching English as a second language (ESOL).
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
