The Opportunity:

As a SENDco Early Years and Junior School, you will support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in the Primo and Junior sections. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and phase leaders to ensure students have access to the curriculum and develop as confident, independent learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND through in-class and targeted interventions.
  • Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with class teachers and parents.
  • Promote inclusive classroom practice and high-quality differentiation.
  • Collaborate with phase leaders and staff to implement evidence-based intervention strategies.
  • Provide guidance on early identification and intervention for students with additional learning needs.
  • Adapt provision to meet the needs of young learners using inquiry-based and play-informed learning approaches.
  • Advocate for the inclusion, wellbeing, and academic success of students with SEND.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive teaching practices across the Primo and Junior sections.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working as a SENDco or Learning Support Teacher within Early Years and/or Primary settings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Educational Needs, Early Childhood Education, or a related field, with a PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience supporting young learners with additional learning needs in an international or British curriculum setting.
  • A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a reputable school.
  • Strong understanding of early intervention, differentiation, and inclusive classroom practice.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, empathy, commitment, and integrity.
  • Strong intercultural awareness and excellent communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) or UK Early Years / Primary frameworks.
