The Opportunity:
As a Lower School Classroom Assistant - Design & Technology, you will support teaching and learning within the Design and Technology Department. You will work closely with teachers to provide a joyful and enriching learning experience for children, helping them develop key skills in communication, collaboration, and creative thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and practical Design and Technology lessons.
- Assist in preparing and organizing resources and materials for classroom activities.
- Work closely with students to encourage creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.
- Support the development of students’ practical and technical skills through guided activities.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to the classroom and department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Experience working with children in educational or care settings.
- Interest and enjoyment in design, technology, or creative learning activities for primary pupils.
- Commitment to child-centred education and the ethos of the school.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues.
Preferred
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience in Design and Technology or awareness of practical, creative, or technology-based learning activities for primary pupils.
