The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Design and Technology to lead and inspire a successful department. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum development, drive innovation in teaching practices, and mentor a team of dedicated D&T teachers. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the D&T department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement an innovative and impactful Design and Technology curriculum.
- Mentor and support a team of D&T teachers to enhance their professional development.
- Deliver outstanding classroom practice and ensure student achievement across all ability levels.
- Contribute to the wider school community through pastoral and extra-curricular activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s educational vision and strategic goals.
- Ensure the effective use of resources and facilities to support teaching and learning.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a Design and Technology department.
- Strong track record in teaching and raising student attainment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver an innovative curriculum.
- Excellent communication and team management skills.
- Commitment to the holistic development of students.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department within a girls’ school.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in Design and Technology education.
- Experience with pastoral and extra-curricular responsibilities.
- Familiarity with professional development frameworks and resources.
