The Opportunity:

The Head of Faculty for Creative Arts and Technology will lead a dynamic team in a school where creativity drives academic success and student engagement. This role offers the opportunity to shape a vibrant curriculum and inspire students through innovative teaching and extracurricular programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-achieving faculty in Creative Arts and Technology.
  • Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum with a strong focus on creativity and student engagement.
  • Support and develop staff, including middle leaders, to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Enhance extracurricular provision, including dance, drama, music, art, and design technology.
  • Collaborate with external partners and the LaSWAP sixth form consortium to expand opportunities for students.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and excellence in teaching and student achievement.
  • Work closely with the Governing Board to align faculty goals with the school’s strategic vision.
  • Ensure the effective use of school facilities and partnerships to enhance student learning and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a middle leadership role within a school setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and develop staff.
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching and curriculum development in Creative Arts and Technology.
  • Commitment to high standards in academic outcomes and student engagement.
  • Experience in managing and delivering successful extracurricular programs.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on creativity and the arts.
  • Background in working with the LaSWAP consortium or similar post-16 partnerships.
  • Experience in leading curriculum development across Key Stage 3 and post-16.
  • Familiarity with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment or similar cultural partnerships.
  • Strong track record in raising academic standards and student achievement.
