About the School:

A school dedicated to providing specialist education in a calm and nurturing environment for children aged 6-11 with communication difficulties typically associated with Autism spectrum conditions.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our school sites. This role is essential in maintaining a high standard of facilities, health and safety, and overall service across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure reactive maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments are completed to a high standard across all school sites and associated properties.
  • Carry out routine health and safety tasks, including fire alarm checks, legionella management, and all compliance requirements.
  • Support the Premises and Compliance Manager in implementing preventative maintenance and servicing procedures.
  • Maintain grounds and facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
  • Record all maintenance and safety checks on the internal CAFM system for audit and inspection purposes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Flexibility and sensitivity to the needs of students with complex communication needs.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations, including fire, legionella, COSHH, and safeguarding.
  • Competence in basic building repairs, maintenance, and grounds upkeep.
  • Computer literacy with the ability to use internal CAFM systems.
  • Experience in a school or college environment is preferred.

Preferred

  • Health and safety qualification or relevant training.
  • Knowledge of electrics, plumbing, or construction trades.
  • Experience in managing or delegating work to others.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to contribute to the overall aims of the school.
