The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning and development. You will work closely with class teachers to provide individual and group support, helping students to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Assist with individual and small group learning to promote independence and confidence.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and teachers to ensure consistent support.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of learning activities that align with the school’s educational goals.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour as required.
  • Support the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Encourage and support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience or training in a teaching or educational support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, flexible, and caring attitude towards working with children.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the class teacher.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Experience with supporting students with special educational needs or diverse learning requirements.
  • Knowledge of current educational practices and curriculum development.
