The Opportunity:
A Maths Lecturer - GCSE and Functional Skills is needed to teach a variety of programmes, including GCSE maths, to students aged 16–18 and adults. This role involves delivering high-quality lessons, contributing to curriculum development, and using modern learning technologies to enhance student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach GCSE maths and Functional Skills courses to mixed ability students.
- Deliver lessons to both daytime and evening/Saturday classes.
- Prepare and implement schemes of learning and lesson plans.
- Use appropriate learning technologies to support teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the curriculum.
- Support students in achieving their academic and career goals.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher status or equivalent.
- Proven experience in teaching maths at GCSE level.
- Ability to teach Functional Skills maths.
- Experience working with students of varying abilities and ages.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Familiarity with learning technologies and digital resources.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering evening or weekend classes.
- Knowledge of adult education and training.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
