The Opportunity:

A Maths Lecturer - GCSE and Functional Skills is needed to teach a variety of programmes, including GCSE maths, to students aged 16–18 and adults. This role involves delivering high-quality lessons, contributing to curriculum development, and using modern learning technologies to enhance student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach GCSE maths and Functional Skills courses to mixed ability students.
• Deliver lessons to both daytime and evening/Saturday classes.
• Prepare and implement schemes of learning and lesson plans.
• Use appropriate learning technologies to support teaching and learning.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the curriculum.
• Support students in achieving their academic and career goals.
• Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher status or equivalent.
• Proven experience in teaching maths at GCSE level.
• Ability to teach Functional Skills maths.
• Experience working with students of varying abilities and ages.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Familiarity with learning technologies and digital resources.

Preferred

• Experience in delivering evening or weekend classes.
• Knowledge of adult education and training.
