The Opportunity:

As a Behaviour Coordinator, you will play a vital role in maintaining and promoting positive student behaviour across the school. This is a key position within the pastoral team, offering the chance to make a real impact on student outcomes and school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor student behaviour across the school, ensuring consistency with established policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support positive behaviour and address concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Liaise with students, parents, carers, and staff to build strong working relationships and resolve issues collaboratively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student behaviour and interventions.
  • Provide guidance and support to other staff members on behaviour management techniques.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of pastoral and intervention programmes.
  • Respond promptly and sensitively to incidents, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Work closely with the pastoral team to ensure a unified approach to behaviour management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in managing student behaviour in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in working with diverse groups of students and staff.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and report on student behaviour regularly.

Preferred

  • Experience in a pastoral or support role within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and interventions.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience in a large, comprehensive school environment.
  • Familiarity with growth mindset and wellbeing initiatives.
