Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Maths department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student achievement and engagement in Maths.
  • Support and mentor Maths teachers to enhance their professional development.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of teaching and learning in Maths.
  • Collaborate with other subject leaders and senior staff to drive school improvement.
  • Ensure the curriculum is up to date and aligned with national standards.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Work closely with students to identify and support those needing additional help in Maths.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Maths education.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Maths curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Experience in school improvement or curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and inspection processes.
  • Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
