The Opportunity:

As a Maths Teacher, you will inspire students with engaging, problem-solving lessons and contribute to a dynamic, collaborative department. You will also support students through pastoral care and lead in extra-curricular maths activities, making a meaningful impact on young minds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, thought-provoking Mathematics lessons that foster problem-solving and a love of the subject.
  • Contribute to the development of the Mathematics curriculum and support the department’s extra-curricular programme, including maths clubs and challenges.
  • Provide pastoral support to students and work collaboratively with colleagues to share resources and teaching strategies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and stay up to date with the latest educational practices.
  • Mentor and support students of all abilities, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department to maintain high academic standards and a positive learning environment.
  • Engage in school-wide events and activities that promote the school’s values and culture.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong academic background in Mathematics, with a degree in the subject.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
  • A commitment to working collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred

  • Previous teaching experience and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • Experience in developing and delivering extra-curricular activities in Mathematics.
  • Familiarity with the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) and its educational values.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • A passion for Mathematics and a desire to inspire future generations of mathematicians.
