The Opportunity:
As a Maths Teacher, you will inspire students with engaging, problem-solving lessons and contribute to a dynamic, collaborative department. You will also support students through pastoral care and lead in extra-curricular maths activities, making a meaningful impact on young minds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, thought-provoking Mathematics lessons that foster problem-solving and a love of the subject.
- Contribute to the development of the Mathematics curriculum and support the department’s extra-curricular programme, including maths clubs and challenges.
- Provide pastoral support to students and work collaboratively with colleagues to share resources and teaching strategies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and stay up to date with the latest educational practices.
- Mentor and support students of all abilities, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
- Work closely with the Head of Department to maintain high academic standards and a positive learning environment.
- Engage in school-wide events and activities that promote the school’s values and culture.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong academic background in Mathematics, with a degree in the subject.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
- A commitment to working collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred
- Previous teaching experience and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
- Experience in developing and delivering extra-curricular activities in Mathematics.
- Familiarity with the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) and its educational values.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
- A passion for Mathematics and a desire to inspire future generations of mathematicians.
