As a Second in Charge Maths Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mathematics education. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a culture of high expectations in Maths and deliver outstanding outcomes for students.
  • Plan, resource and deliver lessons to the highest standard, ensuring meaningful learning and sustained progress.
  • Develop the curriculum in Mathematics, aligning with Maths Mastery at Key Stage Three and preparing students for GCSE at Key Stages Four and Five.
  • Coach and mentor developing teachers within the department to support their growth and performance.
  • Implement academy routines and techniques that promote a culture of high expectations and accountability.
  • Contribute to enrichment, extra-curricular and raising aspirations programmes to support student development.
  • Support the effective daily working of the academy through collaboration and leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in secondary mathematics education.
  • Strong track record in delivering high-quality lessons and achieving student progress.
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting.
  • Ability to mentor and support other teachers effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience with Maths Mastery and curriculum development.
  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in contributing to extra-curricular and enrichment activities.
